Microsoft recently released Office 2013 Service Pack 1 for customers wanting to experience enhanced level of general stability, functionality, and security in Office, SharePoint Server, and related products. The pack comes with many improvements and changes, compatibility fixes for Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11, better support for modern hardware, such as high DPI devices and the precision touchpad and more.
What’s worth noticing is that a handful of updates are totally new in Office 2013 SP1, including Power Map for Excel and SkyDrive Pro updated to OneDrive for Business. Power Map for Excel is a 3D visualization tool for mapping, exploring geographical and temporal data in Excel. All these updates can be easily downloaded and installed via Microsoft Updates, or by directly downloading their installers from the Microsoft Download Center. But you can also update Office 2013 manually. Let us see how to do it.
Update Microsoft Office 2016/2013
Load any ordinary Office Application like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Excel. Navigate the mouse cursor to ‘File’ menu. Under it, select ‘Account’.
Next, below ‘Manage Account’ section you can observe ‘Update Options’ box.
Click on the drop-down arrow of the box to get the list of options displayed. From it, select ‘Disable Updates’.
Then, repeat the same action and this time choose Enable updates option.
The action taken will force Office 2013 to download and install new available updates. In case you have not yet installed Office 2013 Service Pack 1 yet, you may also receive some updates. Download and install them in your version of Office.

Following the completion of updating process, you may find a new option under Update Options: Update Now.
Office 2013 Service Pack 1 has introduced an “Update Now” command to the Update Options button for streamlining the manual process of checking for updates. All the Office applications should be at version 15.0.4569.1506 or higher, as of date.
To update Office 2013 manually, simply use the new Update Now option.
