How To Manual Refresh On Mac
Hi Cherry,
Wondering how to refresh a Finder window in Mac OS? There is no refresh button or keyboard shortcut for the Mac OS X Finder, something which can become a nuisance when a folder window or directory does not refresh contents after something has changed. That may be a fairly rare occurrence with a Mac. Dec 21, 2015 In the iOS Calendar app, at least between the introduction of iCloud and iOS 6, you could show the list of calendars and then tap the refresh icon (two arrows in a circle) at the bottom of the list. In many other apps you can do so by pulling the main list view down and releasing. But I have not found any way to force iOS 7 to do this. This wikiHow teaches you how to force-refresh a page in your browser. Doing this clears the page's data cache and reloads it with updated information. You can do this in the Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer,. Mar 29, 2019 Continue holding the keys until your Mac finishes starting up. Your Mac may reboot itself during this process. Once you arrive at the user selection screen, you can release the keys and sign into your MacBook Pro like you usually do. You may need to reset some of your preferences (e.g., preferred audio output) after resetting the NVRAM.
I have a similar problem, and above you said:
'To refreshyour inbox in Outlook.com interface, you only need to click the refresh button (rounded arrow) across the 'Folders' on the left side of your mailbox page.'
In the Calendar app on your Mac, choose Calendar Preferences, then click Accounts. Select the account, click the Refresh Calendars pop-up menu, then choose an option. If you choose Push, the account is updated automatically when you make a change on any of your devices that use the same account, or when someone makes a change to a shared calendar in that account.
I'm afraid there is no such Refresh button in my outloook.com on web (accessed through Google Chrome browser). See the screenshot below. The only button across the 'Folders' on the left side is a '+' button for creating new folders (not visible in the below screenshot because it appears only when mouse is over). However the Refresh button doesn't exist! And it's very very frustrating ..
I used to have the Refresh button and relied on it massively in hotmail.com, before the migration last month to outlook.com. Am I missing something? is there a setting or something else that is not enabled?
I have seen above the suggestion to refresh the web page. Again, I'm afraid this is not what I need. I used the Refresh button before to make sure that emails I delete on the web or sent are immediately processed and sync'd to my account so other devices (like my mobile) would see these changes faster. Currently I delete 10 emails in outlook web and because I don't have the Refresh button I see them on my mobile for pretty long time, i.e. minutes. I also used the Refresh button to check for new emails, reloading the whole web page is a bit more involved and not always desirable, as I might be in the middle of reading an email or even editing one.
Thanks
How do I refresh / check new mail in Mail?
By default, I don't see a toolbar button to do so in Mail 5.1 on Lion.

Finding Free Apple eBook User Manuals in iBooks on Your Mac1) Open the iBooks app on your Mac.2) Click the “iBooks Store” button in the upper left-hand corner of the iBooks window, as seen below.3) Once the iBooks Store loads, Click in the Search field in the upper right-hand corner of the window and enter “Apple,” and press enter. IBooks will even keep track of where you left off on each device, so you can seamlessly pick up your reading on another device.First, you’ll need to make sure the iBooks app is installed on your iOS device or Mac. This shouldn’t be a big deal, as iBooks is installed by default on every iOS device and Mac sold in recent years. (As shown below.)4) Click the “Computers & Internet” category in the list down the right-hand side of the iBooks Store window.

Apple Mail's check for mail icon looks like a new mail message icon, and can be found here:
If it can't be found you can add by right-clicking on the toolbar and choosing customize:
You can then select the icon from the list and drag it to the toolbar at the top:
You can also use 'Mailbox' -> 'Get All New Mail' which has a shortcut ⌘ + ⇧ + N.
You don't need to synchronize. Synchronize does more than a new mail check (see this answer)

Michiel..or you can go to the mailbox menu and 'synchronize all accounts.'
Also, holding down the Control key while pushing any of the buttons on the button bar will allow you to quickly change to 'icon and text' to show what the buttons do, then quickly turn text off once you're clear.
